Abstract: LAMC: The Assessment Package The Language Assessment for Maltese Children (LAMC) is a practical, standardised and effective language test battery. It is easy to administer and score and therefore an efficient tool for clinicians. The LAMC is an attractive test to children with colourful culturally oriented pictures having a clear background. Administration of the test battery enables the tester to identify discrepancies in language development and to evaluate children’s progress following speech and language therapy. It consists of four sub-tests that assess Maltese children’s abilities (irrespective of their language use and exposure) in terms of verbal comprehension, narrative, sentence imitation and phonological awareness. The test battery also includes checklists for carers related to the children’s voice and fluency abilities. These are available at the end of the score sheet.
