The importance of heritage sites is increasingly being viewed and perceived as vital within the local community and the tourism industry alike. The purpose of this research is to estimate the level of Community Involvement and interaction, with relation to small heritage sites, within the Cospicua Community. The study will also seek to understand the relationship between heritage sites and the local community and how this can have a significant effect on the tourism industry. The perspectives of Community leaders are very significant as they can interfere with the perspectives of the local community and, consequently, of the tourists. Thus Primary data was collected through surveys and interviews with the local community, community leaders and tourists as to obtain a better understanding towards the views of different members of society. The research revealed the importance of encouraging young generations to involve and interact themselves culturally. In addition, community based events seem to be the key for achieving the community's collaboration and participation, hence community development and success. The area of Cospicua is very rich in its history thus it is an ideal tourism destination. Indeed, it has a potential, however this is not being exploited to the full by the Government and local authorities.en_GB
