Abstract: Fil-Kon-Katidral ta’ San Ġwann nsibu il-kappella tal-Lingwa Taljana ddedikata lil Santa Katarina . L-artal tal-kappella għandu żewġ statwi ta’ rħam abjad pur, jirrappreżentaw lil Santa Katarina tal-Lixandra u lil Santa Ewfemja ta’ Kalċedonja. Il-kwadru titulari hu wieħed mill-aqwa ta’ Preti fi Gżiritna u jirrappreżenta t-tieġ mistiku ta’ Katarina ma’ Gesu’, filwaqt li l-lunetti, xogħol tiegħu stess, juru lil Santa Katarina tiddisputi mal-għorrief tal-Eġittu. Il-kwadru tal-Maddalena hu attribwit lill-iskola ta’ Carreggio, filwaqt li dak ta’ San Girolmu hu attribwit lil Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. L-uniku monument f’din il-kappella ifakkar lil Gran Mastru Gregorio Carafa. Fost opri oħra ta’ preġju nsibu salib tal-artal mogħti mill-Bali Crescimano, wkoll erba gwarniċi bil-karti tal-glorja, żewġ brazzi, sitt gandlieri bieba tat-tabernaklu u ventartal b’medaljun fin-nofs, juri il-martirju ta’ Santa Katarina.
