Abstract: This study shall analyse the difficulties encountered by interpreters when interpreting EU Commissioners' speeches, particularly economic terms, in simultaneous mode. An English Maltese glossary of economic jargon shall be complied. Theories of simultaneous interpreting shall also be presented and terms from the glossary shall serve as examples of different language variations which cause additional difficulty in simultaneous interpreting.
