| Abstract: | Two hydroxylated B-1-naphthylalanines, that is, B-(5-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)alanine and B-(6-hydroxy-1 naphthyl)alanine, were synthesised and methods of detecting them in dilute solution using both ultra violet spectroscopy and paper and thin layer chromatography were investigated. This was done to lay the foundation for biological studies, using B-1-naphthylalanine as substrate. |
