| Abstract: | The aim of this paper is to provide a solid basis for the implementation of a health promotion campaign. This campaign would be aimed at improving dental care, in respect of dental caries and periodontal disease, among the adolescent population of Malta. This paper provided a simple definition of dental caries and periodontal disease, the cause are examined and terms for prevention of these ailments therefore are formulated. Apart from the aetiology of these two diseases and epidemiology perspective is also adopted. |
