Abstract: It is a matter of common knowledge that the building industry occupies a position of great importance in any country both as an industry in itself and as the means by which man creates an environment in which I to live and work. Although in modern society the emphasis in the design of a building is centred mostly on the creation of an indoor environment that is comfortable, pleasant and healthy to live and work in, the main purpose in the erection of a construction was, is and will remain, the provision of shelter from the elements in general.
