Abstract: Malta has a historical patrimony which is well out of proportion to its size. The density of historical sites is beyond belief. Having a history which dates back about 7000 years in part explains this vast heritage: one that is becoming very hard to manage and protect for future generations. We have all been shocked by the brute attacks on the Neolithic temples - such vandal acts are a clear indication that a deep set problem exists. The problem is even more evident in buildings form the British era in Malta. Very few of these buildings are showed the respect they deserve.
