Abstract: Anyone familiar with the Maltese Education scene, can instantly identify the large number and age of most of our primary school buildings. Indeed, one will be aware that the bulk of these schools is run by government which has 50 schools in Malta and another 10 in Gozo, accounting for about 72 per cent of the total child intake at this particular level of education.
