Ghar Dalam has been the scene of many investigations over a great number of years by different scientists and others whose object, however, has invariably been the salvage of animal or other remains,in which the cavern is particularly rich. The investigation of which this paper is the issue was undertaken at the desire of Professor Zammit, Rector of Malta University to throw some light, if possible, on the many physical problems of the cave and its deposits and to endeavour to get them into some sort of order and perspective.en_GB
