Abstract: The research revolves around the idea of how the effects of terrorism are imprinted in the global tourism industry. This long essay will expose the impact of terrorism on the global tourism industry. It will also endorse dark tourism as a marketing strategy for the rebuilding of the image and attractiveness of one destination. Thus, it will showcase how there is a correlation between tourism and terrorism where such crisis occur; how can a country rise again after tragedy, death and grief have occurred and how it can promote itself again as a tourist destination. Furthermore, since the research concentrates on the impact of terrorism on tourism as a case study, an in-depth analysis of two destination that were majorly affected by terrorism; Egypt and New York is investigated and is used as an example to showcase a correlation between tourism and terrorism; with reference to dark tourism. Secondary data was the main method used to support this research topic. The outcome of such efforts indicates that the global tourism industry is affected by terrorism; however, a silver lining is exposed, where terrorism is in sync with dark tourism.
