| Abstract: | The application of Malta to join the European Union brings with it various duties for Malta. Malta has to comply with the EU's directives as regards the environment. Most probably this is one of the most sensitive issues concerning negotiations with the EU. The environmental situation on the island is far from being an ideal one as this dissertation will clearly point out. |
