Abstract: | The main aim of this dissertation is to propose water conservation and waste management measures within all residential typologies as solutions to mitigate water resource and waste generation issues in Malta. lt was important to assess the willingness of all stakeholders involved. Thus surveys and interviews were carried out to gauge the awareness and willingness levels of Homeowners, Periti and Developers to implement such measures within the different typologies of residential buildings. The financial and spatial feasibility of such measures were assessed to determine what impacts would water and waste measures have on the stakeholders involved. The carbon footprint of each measure was calculated to quantify the environmental benefits of such systems. From the calculations carried out in this study, one can conclude the feasibility of water conservation and waste management measures within all residential typologies. |
