Proposals to improve the Gozo survey section

Abstract

The aim of this individual project is to • Analyse a problem • Plan, organise and execute a program of work with minimal supervision • Generate and evaluate solutions • Communicate ideas and proposals effectively. As a Gozitan student, after finishing the Two-year course in Geomatics I may have the opportunity to work in Gozo. In Gozo, there is lack of equipment, trained staff and good premises. Therefore, I decided to make this report to propose some changes that could improve the Survey Section. I would also like that the Goza Section could operate professionally using its own staff and equipment. I am going to divide this proposal in mainly five parts. The first part is the history of the Gozo Land Survey Section as there is no documentation of the section. Chapter one and two deal with the present situation in Malta and in Gozo respectively and the last two chapters deal with the analysis and the proposals. From this report, I hope that I could achieve the experience in how a Land Survey Section operates. As the Planning Authority is expanding and modifying its techniques in Malta, I would, also like that the Planning Authority has its own office in Gozo.
