Abstract: Maltacom plc is the monopoly provider of fixed line telephony services m Malta whilst credit management is the management of debtors in a company. This dissertation was carried out to examine the credit management within Maltacom plc. An analysis was also made on how the future liberalisation of the telecommunications market in Malta could affect the credit management within the company. In these last years, Maltacom has established a standard system to manage its telephone debtors. This system consists of all credit management procedures, starting from application for a service up to collection of payments and enforcement procedures. This system was constantly applied and improved. Consequently, the average collection period (i.e. debtors' days) of the company, as well as the percentage of debtors aged over one year, decreased from year to year.
