Abstract: | As an avid sailor and active member of the Royal Malta Yacht club for over seven years, I always wished that, in some way, I could contribute towards improving the operating performance of the Royal Malta Yacht Club. I feel that this dissertation is the most appropriate medium, bearing in mind my limitations as a university student. In relation to my area of study, this dissertation is based on two objectives as follows: + Identifying those areas which at present are impamng the financial sustainability of the club, and + Outlining appropriate recommendations related to these priority areas which could improve such financial sustainability. The primary areas that are tackled in this project include the catering facility at the club, the system governing the election of the club's General Committee and the subscription collection system. At this point, it must be remembered that the applicability of the recommendations made depends entirely on their level of practicality to the Royal Malta Yacht Club. This implies that the research carried out for the purposes of the dissertation only provided a base on which to tailor such recommendations to meet the club's requirements. |
