Attitudes of University students toward cannabis

Abstract

This Research explores the attitudes of students at the University of Malta towards cannabis and cannabis related issues which were divided into subscales: cannabis use, cannabis users, risks and consequences brought about by cannabis use as well as legal issues in relation to cannabis. A questionnaire based on an attitude scale was administered too all university students by e-mail. The results indicate that University students have a positive attitude towards all subscales. University students have the most positive attitude towards different cannabis use and the least positive attitude towards risks and consequences brought about by cannabis use. The results are discussed and recommendation are made for policy development as well as further research setting the stage for the development of a more educated community with regards to drug related knowledge.
