Abstract: Dyslexia does not only affect students' literacy skills; on the other hand, this phenomenon also affects the psychological domain in which turmoil of behaviour, emotions and beliefs about one occur. These mental states usually impinge on issues concerning self-esteem, on one's perceived ability to cope with life and on identification of one's identity with a learning disability. This research study aims to shed some light on aspects of the lives of Maltese males post compulsory education, whether they have entered the world of work or decided to specialise in any given field of study. A qualitative approach was adopted and the study was executed with 4 participants aged 18 - 45 years and who had either pursued a career or decided to continue their studies. Thematic analysis revealed that factors of support, resilience and a stimulated environment all contributed to the incline or decline of the psychological and present status of every participant.
