Abstract: This dissertation looks into the way architecture has been used in film and the vital role the architect has played as a set designer over the past century. An in-depth analysis of the sets used in two teleserials was carried out. This together with interviews conducted with various personalities involved in the local and foreign film industry clearly showed the absence of the role of a set designer and at the same time the need for one. The importance of this role together with the expertise of an architect or interior designer was also found to be important due to the influence film has on the lifestyle and tastes of the viewers.
