Abstract: | In this study, it was proposed to analyse some of the important aspects of the demand for Management Studies graduates/students in Malta with particular reference to Public Administration. After tracing the historical background and development of the recruitment of University graduates in the Higher Civil Service, the study concentrated around the new set-up of courses in the University. Particular attention was given to the worker-students graduating from the Faculty of Management Studies. This was proceeded by a brief description of the present situation in the Public Administration, that is, the organisational environment in which most of the graduates in Management Studies find themselves in since the start of their employment career. To gain a further insight into the study, I conducted an interview with 24 Management Studies graduates in the public service. The interviews' aim was to see the graduates' opinion about their demand, their work environment and their responsible positions (potentiality) in the public service. |
