Abstract: The enormous ecological burden of the real estate and construction sector means that it has also an enormous potential to contribute to the global sustainable development. Managing the paradigma shift requires science-based methods and life-cycle approaches in all activities of research and practice. 􀂃 The COST Action C25, “Sustainability of Constructions: Integrated Approach to Lifetime Structural Engineering” is focused to an integrated approach to deal with the endproducts of constructon, clearly targeted at the development of R&D and engineering methods from structural points of view.
