dc.description.abstractThe article presents and analyses the ecumenical pronouncements made by Pope Francis in the first 100 days of his mission as Bishop of Rome. His first major ecumenical event was the meeting he had with the representatives of other Churches and ecclesial communities on the day following the inauguration of his pastoral mission. Other important encounters in the following weeks include those with the Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church and with the Archbishop of Canterbury. The article analyses the speeches made. The article commences with earlier contributions and experiences by Jorge Mario Bergoglio. These set the scene for what would feature in the first 100 days of his new mission, in 2013.en_GB
