Abstract: The internet has frequently been characterized as male-dominated, but from recent literature this gender gap, in Internet use, seems to be diminishing rapidly. This study examines internet use differences between genders; having the gender gap diminished as regard to internet use, do the motives and preferences/reasons for Internet use still diverge or have they become similar between genders? Thus what specific applications do females prefer and males correspondingly choose to use? The specific Internet applications and uses under investigation were categorised under three categorical sections - 1.) Education and research 2.) Entertainment and Leisure 3.) Interpersonal communication and relationship formation I seeking.
