Abstract: ▪ Protection against extreme earthquake conditions is related to all structures. The seismic strengthening of old buildings and monuments is particularly important and sensitive activity, considering that they are sometime very unique. The prediction of their dynamic behaviour and development of damage mechanism for original and strengthened structures should be verified both by analytical (numerical) approach and by experimental testing.
