Abstract: The aim of this study is the development of a resource pack that offers out of classroom teaching and learning experiences within the cross-curricular theme of Education for Sustainable Development. The pack targets both educators and students, with the main objective of enthusing students in enhancing their knowledge and attitudes about Maltese natural, social, cultural and historical heritage. The pack covers five environmental educational walks, keeping the Victoria Lines as the common backdrop and addresses the various interrelated subjects of environmental, cultural, socioeconomic and political aspects of the sites visited. The pack provides guidelines for teachers about the preparation for the walk and on-site and follow up activities. This educational pack utilised various community resources and on completion it has been assessed by thirteen educators from primary schools. The feedback provided confirmed the level of effectiveness achieved in obtaining the identified objectives of the study.
