| Abstract: | The focus of 'History Week 2015 was the Great Siege of 1565, the Founding of Valletta, and their lasting effects. The symposium itself and the present proceedings constitute an interdisciplinary banquet for the intellect, with contributions ranging from history, archaeology, geography, cartography, gender, poetry, memory, architecture, pedagogy and others. An ending should really be the easiest part; as Arthur Miller (1915-2005) said, 'If I see an ending, I can work backward.' 1 But Miller was a playwright. He invented. Historians cannot, m should not. So concluding meaningfully this volume is, let us say, challenging. |
