Introduction: Five years of intensive fieldwork and post-excavation analysis in Malta have yielded several important new insights into Maltese prehistory which we summarize and put into a broader thematic context below. A number of innovative approaches to archaeological fieldwork were attempted as part of this Project in our quest to tackle the five major questions of the research programme. We now have the opportunity to assess their effectiveness in enabling advances on our initial research questions. We pose some new questions that have arisen for future scholars to consider.en_GB
