Abstract: In this essay we will try to develop the theme of Exorcism as presented in Mark's Gospel. There is highlighted the fact that Mark gives prominence to Jesus' miracles and that he inserts exorcism as the first miracle. The role of Satan in this Gospel is examined vis-a-vis the mission of Jesus in announcing the Kingdom of God. To do this the various episodes that narrate an exorcism are presented, while, at the same time, the common elements, if any, among the episodes of exorcism in the Synoptic Gospels are considered. Ultimately, what Mark is trying to convey with the inclusion of those episodes in his narrative is explained.
