Abstract

Presented here are short takes on signal works of scholarship in the field of electronic literature, broadly defined and occasionally contested by graduate students and postgrads situated in literary arts programs that are both transdisciplinary and multinational. The titles referenced are not meant to be definitive; that will be the object of a larger presentation in the Electronic Literature Directory where these entries will be co-published ( www.eliterature.org ). What we intend here is to convey a sense of what early career scholars are currently reading; what those selections say about where the field has been, and what these researchers are now saying about where the field might, or might not be heading.
