Abstract: | It is with pleasure and gratitude that I present this paper in honour of Kevin J. Cathcart who was one of my mentors in the field of West Semitic languages during my studies at Oxford. Not only has Kevin been a source of guidance and encouragement whileI was pursuing my doctoral degree, but he is also an esteemed friend and colleague now. This paper derives from a larger study on the so-called Lachish Letters, which was submitted as my doctoral thesis to the University of Oxford in 2016, and I am honoured to dedicate this by-product as a contribution to this volume. |
