| Abstract: | The aim of this thesis was twofold: the first was to become familiarized with this relatively new method of construction, its uses; advantages and limitations. The first six sections of this thesis contain the findings of my research. Secondly, to investigate their properties through various types of tests available and determine which test best represents the true properties of the honeycomb structures, with the aim of design in mind. Sections 7 to 9 deal with the tests carried out, their procedure, apparata used, results and the discussion of the results obtained. |
