Abstract: Organisations of any size tend to amass a large corpus (amount) of documents containing information that users often need to refer to or quote. Moreover, members from different departments of the organisation may require documents that members in other sections have written. If the author archives the documents, or if the author wrote the needed document a long time before the request, then the author might have forgotten to even writing it in the first place and information is lost. This leads to a decline in productivity and wastage of time. Moreover, geographic discrepancies may also represent a determining factor in finding the required information to get a job done efficiently and quickly. Most importantly, the need to quote the relevant document or documents is often the greatest challenge, even in localised (not multi-sited) organisations. In the ambit of an organisation, document sharing and easy accessibility is of the utmost importance for productivity. An organisation can reap several advantages from the file sharing strategy proposed.
