Abstract: | Organisations rely on the publishing of internal datasets to achieve crucial objectives, such as the implementation of an open data policy. Rx-PETaL is a framework that leverages concepts of reactive streaming and the Actor model to design efficient ETL processes for data publishers. We describe Rx-PETaL and illustrate its applicability to a number of real-world problems, as well as the results of the empirical evaluation of one application of Rx-PETaL, improving runtime duration of a legacy sequentially-processing application by more than 95%. |
