dc.description.abstract | The notion of Maltese identity has been raised and discussed quite a lot in recent times. Some scholars have been trying to define what constitutes Maltese identity; others have attempted to pinpoint the birth date of Maltese identity by trying to answer the question ‘When were the Maltese aware of themselves as distinct from other ethnic groups, with a distinctive identity of their own?’ Personally, I believe it is not all that important to be able to answer such questions. | en_GB |
