Bibliography of nineteenth century mathematical books in the National Library of Malta

Abstract

The purpose of this study was that of compiling a bibliography of nineteenth century mathematical books in the National Library of Malta. The necessary information directing me to the desired books was found in the subject catalogue of the National Library of Malta. After collecting the information from the subject catalogue, each book of the period 1800-1900 had its title page, the rest of its pages and its height checked to gather the required information which would then be placed in a chronological order subdivided further alphabetically. Three types of indexes, mainly author, subject and place of publication were made to facilitate for the user of this bibliography the retrieval of any information out of the three hundred and seventy entries or books.
