Abstract: A survey was carried out among 253 employees working in a pharmaceutical firm. This survey was conducted by circulating a questionnaire among those eligible for this study. The Company Doctor and the Human Resources Manager were interviewed to support this study. The results obtained revealed a high level of awareness on Occupational Health and Safety among the respondents. According to the participants, the training and information that they received on Health and Safety was insufficient. The results revealed that a comprehensive Risk Assessment and a Health and Safety Representative are necessary, not only to be in line with the Maltese Legislation and European Directives, but to provide the highest level of Health and Safety to its employees. Awareness can be evolved by better planning, organize ongoing training and investing more on Health and Safety.
