Conference dinner

A conference dinner will be held on Friday, 8th April. This is included in the registration fee for non-student participants. Other participants are welcome at an additional charge of €40.

Details of the dinner will be announced closer to the date.


On Saturday, 9th April, there will be a visit to two Neolithic Temples, which are situated on the coast: Ħaġar Qim dates back o 2000 BCE and Mnajdra goes back to 3400BCE. Built out of globigerina limestone, the temples stand high on the cliffs overlooking the islet of Filfla. The visit to the temples will be followed by a walking tour through the narrow streets of Mdina and a visit to the imposing bastions to admire the panoramic view of the Island.

Screening of Les Choristes with Maltese subtitles

As an alternative to the tour on Saturday 9th April, there will be a free screening of the film Les Choristes. This film, which was nominated for two Oscars, has been subtitled in Maltese by Dr Anthony Aquilina and Ms Mary Jo Caruana. This is the first film that has been subtitled in Maltese. The screening will be preceded by a brief introduction, during which Dr Anthony Aquilina will discuss the challenges of subtitling a film in the Maltese language.
