Vince Briffa is a practicing contemporary multi-media artist and curator and has been researching the integration and application of electronic and digital media within the fine arts since the mid 1990s. He was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Central Lancashire in the UK in 2009 and an M.A. in Fine Arts with Distinction from the University of Leeds in 2000. He was also artist in residence at the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland in 1996.

In the last thirty years, he has on numerous occasions represented his country internationally, including the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999; the Museum of Contemporary Art in Nicosia, Cyprus (2004); the MAC, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santa Fe, Argentina (2006/7); the Harris Museum, Preston, UK (2007) and at the Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art, Israel (2009). Briffa has also had his work exhibited in some of the major museums and art galleries worldwide and has work in private and public collections, including the National Collection, Malta and the Laiki Bank Cultural Centre in Cyprus.

Vince is an associate of the Electronic and Digital Art Unit of the University of Central Lancashire, and is also involved in research projects with faculty members from the Contemporary Art Practice, University of Leeds. Has been involved with the creative industries for the last twenty-five years, and was instrumental in launching computer graphics for the broadcast industries in Malta in the late 1980s.

Vince Briffa is also course leader for the MFA in Digital Arts and the BFA in Digital Arts degrees offered by the Department of Digital Arts.
