Master by Research


Duration: 3 semesters full-time or 6 semesters part-time 
 

The Master of Arts can be in any of the areas pertaining to Media and Communications, and in which research can be carried out. These include journalism, different aspects of internet communications, graphic design, film, mass media, different areas of communications (such as human, interpersonal, organisational, etc). 

Students are expected to write a dissertation amounting to 50,000 words. In addition to the research component, students are required to register for 10 ECTS credits in taught study-units as directed by the Board.

Career Opportunities 

Students who graduate with a Master of Arts in Media and Communications can find employment in a number of areas, depending on the specialist area in which they have carried out their research. Keeping this in mind, job opportunities include, among others, careers in journalism, the media, film, public relations, advertising, corporate communications, design, digital and online publishing positions.
