MEDAC students visit several International Organizations in Geneva and the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation in Berne, Switzerland

29th May - 4th May 2014

From 29 April to 4 May, MEDAC carried out its annual study visit to Geneva and the Swiss capital of Berne. In Geneva, the main focus of the visit was on the international organisations located there, such as the UN, the UNHCR, the WTO, the WHO and the ICRC. The students also had the opportunity to visit the Geneva Centre for Security Policy within the newly built “Maison de la Paix”, and were received by the Maltese permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Jean Paul Grech. In Berne, MEDAC participants paid a visit to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), where discussions between SDC staff and MEDAC students about SDC’s activities as well as current developments in the Mediterranean region were held.
