| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit provides the students with the necessary set of skills and practices needed to write a dissertation/research paper. These include the drafting of a clear title and a focused set of questions which the researcher must answer in the course of writing. This unit also engages students in research skills pertaining to various sources as well as the drawing up of a bibliography and other formal requirements. Study-unit Aims Aims include: 1. To introduce the student to the skills required for writing and researching effectively; 2. To enable the students to produce a masters level dissertation in line with the requirements of the University of Malta. Learning Outcomes 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of what one expects of a dissertation; 2. Identify key concepts related to the research topic; 3. Identify a focused research title and question; 4. Become familiar with different methodologies. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: 1. Collect and analyse data; 2. Identify and evaluate different sources and resources; 3.
