Treatment Protocol Charts and Handbooks

Development of protocols is one of the main research areas of the Department of Pharmacy. Protocols guide pharmacists through a structured approach to take informed decisions regarding correct diagnosis and selection of optimal treatment to ensure patient safety.  The protocols provide a platform for standardised approach to professional aspects and can be used to develop the practice of pharmacist prescribing.  Pharmacy students participate in this research area through their project. Protocols have been developed by for the management of pain, allergy, skin conditions, gastro-intestinal disorders, eye and dental conditions, common cold and paediatric care.
