The University of Malta Library has a rich collection of opera librettos published for the use of opera goers in Malta between the late 18th century and the late 20th century. Many of these librettos were formally in the collection of the late M. A. Borg (1868-1939) impresario and playwright, purchased by the Library in 1980. This catalogue tries to establish the publisher or priter as well as the date of publication of each item, and to give as far as possible in a uniform way the names of singers named (often partially or carelessly) in the cast-lists.
