Event submission guidelines
All events listed on the University of Malta Events Calendar available on Newspoint must be associated with the University. Examples include events organised by an administrative/service or academic entity at UM, or by a Senate-recognised student organisation, or large public events (academic and/or cultural) held at university venues.
Events listed in the section Happening in Malta are those events not associated with the University of Malta but that might be of interest to University staff, students and the general public due to their academic and/or cultural nature. Only events of an academic and/or cultural nature by organisations that are not associated with the University are included in this section on Newspoint. These include events organised by:
- cultural institutes/entities
- voluntary organisations in Malta (refer to the list of voluntary organisations on the website of the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations).
These events are not included in the University of Malta Events Calendar available on Newspoint and nor are they include on My UM. Events organised by voluntary organisations or entities with a direct political affiliation will not be featured on Newspoint unless the event in question is being organised in conjunction or in collaboration with the University of Malta.
In exceptional circumstances the editor has the right to list an event which does not fall within the categories listed in these guidelines.
Events may be submitted by sending an email. Event descriptions are reviewed, edited, and added to the Events Calendar at the discretion of the Newspoint editor and are posted online within 24 hours of submission. If details about an event need to be changed (updates, cancellations) send an email with updates.
