March marks a time of celebration and new horizons, as our postgraduate graduands step into the spotlight, ready to be recognised for their years of hard work, perseverance, and achievements.
And it is with absolute pride that we kick off this season to honour the dedication, embrace the milestones of, and cheer on the next chapter in the journey of 1,620 Master’s and PhD students.
A Graduation Thanksgiving Mass was held at St John’s Co-Cathedral on Wednesday, 26 February at 18:30, which was also streamed live on the UM Facebook Page.
18 ceremonies will be taking place, starting Monday 2 March 2026 up until Thursday 12 March 2026, with the full schedule available online.
They will be celebrating the record number of UM graduands we have for this season; 983 females and 635 males.
Among these, 81 will be conferred with a doctoral degree: 72 PhDs, 1 Doctor of Music and 8 Doctorates in Pharmacy.
The accomplishment belongs to them, but the pride extends to the loved ones and mentors who have stood by them every step of the way.
In each ceremony, students who excel in their respective courses will be robed before receiving the scroll from the Chancellor, Rector and the Dean or Director of the respective Faculty, Institute, Centre or School.
For those who would like to follow the proceedings online throughout the graduation period, the University of Malta will be providing a live stream of these events via its social media channels (namely Facebook and LinkedIn) as well as the UM website.
Other pertinent information such as the dress code, acquiring a copy of one’s academic record and permitted photography services, can be accessed online.
Heartfelt congratulations to all our students!
