Prof. Charles Yousif co-chairs the 17th international conference on thermal engineering in Malta

The 17th International Conference on Thermal Engineering: Theory and Applications was co-organised by the Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada and the University of Malta (22-24 June 2026) at the University of Malta, Valletta Campus.

Over 90 participants from more than 30 different countries have showcased 70+ papers on different topics, such as on Multi-phase flow and heat transfer, Energy Management & Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, Numerical Methods in Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer, Internal Flow and Heat Transfer, Thermal Transport Phenomena, Biofuels & Internal Combustion Engines, Air conditioning & Refrigeration, as well as several keynote speeches.

At the end of the conference, the Chair Prof. Ziad Saghir from Canada together with the co-chair Prof. Ing. Charles Yousif thanked all participants, especially the local steering committee, Prof. Luciano Mule' Stagno (keynote speaker), Prof. Christopher Micallef, Dr Therese Bajada, Dr Bonnie Attard (MCAST), Dr Margaret Camilleri Fenech , Prof. Tonio SantProf. Daniel Micallef, for their support and active participation in chairing the different sessions.

The proceedings will be published in Scopus, while a select number of papers will be published in a special edition entitled: Advances in Thermal Engineering Research and Applied Technologies of the open-access journal Energies.

The Editors for the special issue are Prof. Christopher Micallef and Prof. Ing. Charles Yousif.
