Welcome to the University of Malta (UM)
The Master of Arts in Comparative Euro-Mediterranean Education Studies is a research Masters focusing on comparing Maltese educational policies and practices with those found across Europe and beyond.
It is open to applicants in possession of a Bachelor degree in Education from a recognised tertiary institution, and who have proof of adequate English proficiency.
This MA will be offered for its eighth run by the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Educational Research in October 2020, and for this time only it will be offered remotely.
Its graduates have taken up leadership positions within the Directorates of Education, the Faculty of Education, MCAST and the Junior College, as well as the National Commission for Higher Education. A number of them have completed or are about to complete their PhDs.
The course entails a taught component that will be delivered via a digital platform, enabling students to follow the course from the comfort of their home. These sessions will be held twice weekly from 17:00 to 20:00. If social distancing measures are lifted, a number of face-to-face seminars will be negotiated with the participants.
The second part of the course enables the students to focus on the research area of their choice. Special attention will be given to the range of strategies available to carry out research using digital platforms. The course will be coordinated by Prof. Ronald G. Sultana, who is being awarded a Doctorate Honoris Causa by the Université Laval in Quebec for his work in education and career guidance.
