Welcome to the University of Malta (UM)
Our Faculty of Dental Surgery, housed within the state-of-the-art Mater Dei Teaching Hospital, has since 1954, been creating pathways for young and women to enter the field of dentistry.
Among the plethora of study levels and options of specialisations offered by this Faculty, you may opt for the Masters’ Degree in Dental Surgery, a five-year full-time programme available to students wishing to become resident dental specialists.
If you do not yet fulfill the necessary criteria to apply for this programme, you may engage in the preliminary foundation year, which will equip you with the necessary skills to advance to Masters’ level.
This degree in dentistry will help you acquire advanced techniques on dental care whilst improving your clinical proficiency and developing your competence in related research.
Against a background of increasing awareness of the importance of oral health and subsequently, a higher demand of specialised dentists, this study option will make you highly employable in dental clinics, biomedical companies, health centres, hospitals, laboratories, nursing homes and medical colleges.
In case the reasons mentioned above are not sufficient to embark on this journey, we also have five available scholarships for the top applicants with the most relevant qualifications.
