Welcome to the University of Malta (UM)
What do a family, a group of friends, a football team, an organisational hierarchy and a global exporting chain have in common? They all account for different ways in which society organises relationships between people. Being the study of human social relationships, sociology is the area allowing you to focus on the forces that shape us and the world around us.
In this fascinatingly diverse field of study, you will be able to explore themes such as wealth, poverty, discrimination, and religious beliefs, among many others, and look at society in an objective manner.
But the richness of our social milieu is not the only reason you should consider joining the University of Malta’s Department of Sociology.
Here are 5 more reasons you should get a sociology degree:
The Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts offers undergraduate study programmes that lead to a BA or BA (Hons) in Sociology.
Among these is the part-time evening taught MA in Health, Medicine & Society. The course looks at the relations between the medical world and society, and will appeal to health professionals as well as graduates interested in medical sociology. It is both theory-and practice-based. More information can be acquired on the Sociology official subsite.
