As part of the ongoing plans to revitalise the Teatru Salesjan in Tas-Sliema, the 1950s seating, which add flavour to its overall retro look, has been detached from the beautiful turn of the century tiled floor to make way for more versatile events.
The team behind the Teatru Salesjan, which is currently funded by the Arts Council Malta’s Malta Arts Fund, is now launching a new brand, reminiscent to the theatre’s original name, geared towards providing local and international artists a space for music.
The team has the pleasure to present Domus: a house for live music.
To launch this venture, the Teatru Salesjan is organising a jazz night, with the participation of The Jazz Combo, on Friday, 1 April 2016. The auditorium will be transformed into a makeshift jazz bar, complete with tables, to immerse the audience into a relaxed environment best suited to end the week.
Tickets are only €10 each (if purchased online) and €40 for a group ticket (which includes a table and a free bottle of wine), whereas tickets at the door are at €12. Wine and platters will also be served from the bar.
Tickets are available for purchase from www.ticketline.com.mt. We suggest early table booking due to the limited amount available.
The night will feature The Jazz combo who will be opening and launching this venture. Formed in the summer of 2014, the quintet features musicians who are not new to the music scene. All musicians share common interest in the Jazz tradition, the American swing, Bebop/Hard Bop, Latin, Afro Cuban and improvised music. On the night the Jazz Combo will be playing a vast selection of Jazz repertoire together with some arrangements.
